SAVE THE WHALE (and dolphins)

Pfft. Before I selfishly type about my life, I would like to use the little awareness this blog has to spread this message:

/RANT START/

"There is a petition going around against the keeping of whale sharks by a casino operator in Singapore. have a look at the following link: http://www.whalesharkpetition.com/

The same operator is also going to keep up to 18 Bottlenose dolphins which have already been wild caught from the Solomons and is being held in Subic Bay, Philippines until the facility in Singapore is ready. "- An E-mail from my mum.

Fishing IRs and Casinos. We already are short of land space and they want to keep a WHALE SHARK here. What next? A herd of blue whales? Go sign the petition if you can. Its for a BIG, BIG cause. (:

/RANT END/

Anyway. I just came back from my Taekwondo Blackbelt grading. It was really quite the drama. Not only did I get wait around for about 3 hours just to do my grading, I got to watch the Poom-belts (blackbelts below 15 years of age) do their grading. Its really quite impressive. People fell down, sparring went awry, patterns were forgotten, and one guy even left the stadium on a stretcher.

While the other black-tips and I were watching all this unfold, we suddenly got the wonderful news that we were going to be tested on 4 patterns that we didn't learn because we were told that they were taken out of the grading.

10 minutes before the black-tips were supposed to go on.

Remember how I said that we waited around for roughly three hours? Well, yeah. You can imagine the immense rage and panic that swept through the stadium.

After a lot of scrambling by the coaches, mass hysteria from the taekwondo students and a lot of pleading later, patterns one to four were removed from the 'Lucky draw' of patterns, and peace was restored. Well, as peaceful as an extremely warm staduim full of overheating taekwondo pratictioners can get, anyway. Ah well. It was amusing while it lasted.

In the end, I survived my grading mostly intact, and alive. The only injuries I have are a sprained foot and a few bruises here and there. Im sorry if you didnt understand this post at all, but if you are bothered enough to find me, I would happily explain what all this hoo-ha was about. (:

Kong Kong, if your reading this, i want to say Im okay, and Yes, I WILL do better in my sparring to help protect everyone, okay? Dont worry. I hope you like your new laptop :D

Time to put ice on my foot, I think.
